2009 winners

Family Photo

Discipline, love of nature and a new camera yielded five winning entries in Friends of the Forest Preserves First-Annual Photo Contest for a talented father and son team from Des Plaines. Bob Callebert was awarded both first place and second place for dramatically-lit wetland scenes at Spring Creek Nature Preserve and Palatine Marsh. And, though he only took up photography about two years ago, 15-year-old William Callebert took third place for a river scene at Bunker Hill Woods, snapped with a camera purchased just after Christmas.

Friends thanks all who participated for helping us showcase the beauty of the Forest Preserves of Cook County. Submit your photograph to Friends of the Forest Preserves’ 2010 Photo Contest.

Ten winners will receive Friends hats and calendars and $25 gift certificates from Franklin Framing in Blue Island. The grand prize winning entry will be printed and framed. Winning photographs will be shown at the exhibition in February and displayed on Friends’ website.
